Hi I just upgraded to 4.6.1 from 4.4.1

Honestly I have only seen one thing that I don't know how to fix. After warm up the nozzle moves to the lower left corner as always, stops about 20mm above the bed and primes the nozzle for about 5 seconds leaving a coil of filament. Then something it's never done before, the nozzle comes down to about 3mm smushing into the blob of filament and taking it for a ride to the print causing a mess and a failed print. For the moment my fix is I just sit and wait for the blob to be done and I quickly remove it before it can come down.

Any thoughts?

Anyone else see this?

I have an Ultimaker 2+ extended.

Found another answer of @fieldOfView

If you can't see temp settings, your printer is likely using UltiGcode. When using UltiGcode, temperature settings are set on the printer, not in Cura. You can change the gcode flavor to Marlin in the Machine Settings for your printer, and gain full access of temperatures in Cura.

The "Enable prime blob" setting has been disabled for all printers.

@peggyb What printer and G-code flavor are you using to see the "Enable Prime Blob"?

all Ultimaker printers, looked it up in the machine settings and it uses 'Griffin'.

If you want more technical information, ask, @ahoeben, I know how to use the software/printer but not the underlaying technical info.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
