Random Model Placement

Hello,

im looking for a feature to place my models randomly on the build plate. Is this possible with the normal cura sliced or a plug-in?

Sure, just use the multiply model option, that produces what appear to be random positions (just kidding but there's a grain of truth in there!)

I can add an option to randomize model placement to a future release of MeshTools. It may not take into account things like bed clips or circular buildplates though.

Can you try this development snapshot? Download the file and drop it onto the Cura buildplate as if you are opening a 3d model. After restarting Cura, right-clicking a model and selecting Mesh Tools -> Randomise location will move the model to a random position on the build plate.

Just curious . What are the benefits/uses  to place the models randomly on the build plate ?

Equal wear of the buildplate surface, I guess?
