Hi Folks,

I am a complete newbie to 3D printing.  I purchased an Ender3 pro and started printing files from my reovable drive. I thought this is great.  Slowly but surely I seem to be getting it! I was using Cure 4.6.1. Then I had message asking if I wanted to upgrade to Ver 4.7.1?  I hesitated because I had been through a steep learning curve getting to print some useful stuff from thingyverse.  Then one day I took the plung and upgraded.  Now I have another curve to mount.  I cannot save anything to my removable drive. I'm not sure what  I should do. I've search you-tube but so far nothing hits the button for a solution that works for me.

Grate for any expert help I can get.

After a while (the length of time is flexible) you need to re-format the SD card.

Large capacity SD cards are not handled well by the small processor in the printer.  Stick with 8 or 16GB cards.

Long file names aren't a good idea either since the printer has to truncate them to DOS 8.3 format internally.

Finally, try saving the gcode file to the hard drive and then manually copying it over to the SD card.  See if that works.

    Hi Greg,

Apologies for the delay in responding to your helpful advice.

I had to wait for a delivery of a 16Gb SD card. I am pleased to say this has solved my little problem and I am nearing the end of printing something. It looks perfect. But I still have a long way to go before I dare to say I am an expert.
