Material profile shows up as Not Supported

I've created a profile for PLA, PETG, ABS, but when I created a profile for Nylon the profile always shows as not supported and refused to give me a quality selection.  I'm not sure why this is. I've tried Versions 4.6 4.7, 4.8. I also can't seem to import a Matterhackers NylonX profile either. Not sure if this has anything bearing on a solution.  Any ideas?

i have one problem (I hope i'll describe a problem reasonably - I'm not very good in English)

 

Question is:

Is there any solution to make my own profile for my own material (which is not a default material type)

 

I want to make profile for ASA material, from a local manufacturer.

In Cura, I Duplicated "Generic ABS" material and changed it:

Display name: ASA Green

Brand: YYY

Material type: ASA

Set green color

Unlink Material

 

Then I restarted Cura.

 

In my printer, I got new material, everything as i wanted (Brand name:YYY/ Material type:ASA /Color:Green)

 

Problem appeared in Cura

 

ASA is not default Ultimaker material type I don't have any intent or custom profile for ASA. I can't even make it. Is there any solution?

 

I understand, ASA is similar to ABS and i can left material type to ABS and everything will work OK (Intent profiles for ABS stay) but with this printer (Ultimaker Pro bundle) work several people and I don't want any shortcuts (ASA is ASA, not ABS 😄 ). We want to have all things cleared.

I found out that it is the material type that throws cura out. 

Duplicate the generic ABS profile and change what you need to change, but don't touch the material type. 
As long as you change the density of your material, it works fine. 

Yes, you have to load the material as generic abs on ultimaker printers in order to make it work... 

 

This way it works fine with custom materials in cura. But I agree with you: This is something that should get fixed.
Either give us more generic material choices or just let any custom material work.
