Cura settings lost

Hello Everyone, 

 

I was just wondering if I could have some advice please! I have just gotten an Ulitmaker S5 and been really impressed but for some reason Cura can never remember the settings which I have saved. I mange to get the settings dialled in, for example getting precise prints and then I save the settings however the next time I go into Cura I can't find them at all! I think for some reason when I load the Ultimaker filament it seems to get rid of all my settings. If I could have some help it would be very much appreciated!!

What do you mean with you save the settings? Do you save it as project in Cura?

Well once I have created the settings I click "create profile from current settings/overides". I'm guessing you need to save it as a project...

It depends what you want, I prefer to save projects, but you can also create a profile.

Well I mean all I really want is just for the profiles to be saved so it can repeatable and consistent.

But what's exactly the problem, are you not able to save it or is the profile there but with different settings?

Hi Smithy, 

 

I will just saw the profiles as a project each time. Do you know where I could find the best Cura profiles say for PETG? Basically the problem is when I load one of the ultimaker spools it wipes all the other profiles I have made before if that makes sense?

I just reinstalled cura and that has solved the problem!
