Posted · Help! 4.9.1 would not start

Couple of months since I last fired up my Ender 3 Pro and tried to slice in Cura. But dismayed to get message that something had gone wrong. (Duly sent report 30 mins ago.) Took the 'backup and reset option' but had to specify printer and so assume I've now lost all my settings? Is there some way to recover them please?

The good news is that I am now printing from Cura's output. However I got a message about 4.11.1 which I've downloaded. When I install that will I get offered an opportunity to restore my settings please?

Hi @terrypin there is unfortunately no option to recover your settings.

When you install 4.11 you will get a message to delete previous versions, make sure you click on no, so your older Cura versions will not be deleted.

To make sure to keep your settings you can go to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\cura and then the 4.9.1 folder. Make a copy of this folder and rename it.

For next time it is easier to make a back up, go to Extensions - Cura Backups - Manage backups.

Let me know if it worked for you!
