How do you set the layer thickness to different values for different layers?

Many of my pieces have threads located at various levels in the part.  Is it possible to insert instructions in the g-code to change the layer thickness from a thicker value for the main body of the part to a finer thickness for the portion that has threads?  How do I do that?  Thanks,

There is no way to do this manually in Cura.

What you can do is slice the model at different layer heights and manually (in a text-editor) combine parts of these files. But that is tedious work and easy to screw up.
