I am using 4.13.1 and having a weird issue where the slicer ignores the interior details of a model almost like they aren't there whenever I have the model oriented to the bed with its face down.

r/3Dprinting - What causes Cura to ignore interior details depending on part orientation?

If I stand the model up on its end all the sudden the details become visible and get sliced.

Is there some setting I accidentally clicked that causes this?

The model looks manifold indeed. That's why I said "in most cases", not "in all cases".

If you save the model from Cura with File -> Save project... it also saves all your settings and I can have a look at those. Some settings can also cause this.

If i would make a guess...:

"Mesh Fixes" -> "Remove All Holes"

...would have exactly this effect (in combination with zero percent infill).

Though... I can't imagine why anyone would enable this without a good reason?

And you sir would be right on the money. How that setting ever even got turned on I have no earthly idea, it wasn't even a visible setting when I went to double check after your comment.

I appreciate both of your help sorting out the issue.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
