Posted · PLA from Ultimaker not being detected by printer.

I have an Ultimaker 3S, and had a problem with the filament derailing from the translucent tube. After managing to fix it, and while doing so removing the filament from the printer, i tried putting the PLA back into the printer but in the "select material" step the "detecting" message will never stop loading (It's loaded over 30 minutes 3 times now). I've retried multiple times following the exact steps the printer gives to reload a material, but it does not seem to work.

If anyone knows why this is happening and how it could be fixing that would be very helpful. Thank you!

(also if of any importance, its the second material, since "material 1" didn't derailed and didn't have to be taken out)

So you printer is not able to detect the spool, right?

Could  have two reasons, 1.) You don't use a Ultimaker spool or the NFC tag on the spool is not working. or 2.) the NFC reader on the printer (inside the spool holder) is not working and is probably not connected. You can try to reseat the connector on the printer.
