work without printer

How can I work with Cura without printer?

I only want to create and improve my ideas before I let them print anywhere...

You don't need a printer.  It's easy.  Run cura, pick any printer.  Load the STL file and click the "slice" button.  Then go to PREVIEW mode and you can scroll between the layers and see how it will print.

 

You can enable "support everywhere" and see where it puts support (teal color) and then see if you can change your design to eliminate those areas.

I agree with GR5.  About the only reason that you would need to setup the printer if you just want to look at how it slices would be the print bed size, that I can think of.  You can use the preview view and slide the layer height up and down(on the far right of the screen) to see how each layer would print.
