Cura, how to connect base support structures together?

I have a good base support structure but the issue is I have pieces of support that are separated from the base and after a few hours of printing they keep falling over which ruin the print.  I'll add an image but I'm trying to figure out how to connect the individual supports on the left and right to the main base support so it doesn't fall over.  Is there any add-ons for this?

Increasing the value at 'support join distance' might help. I often set this to 10-15mm. Cura gives a warning with such values but the result is a clean, sturdy support structure that often is printed faster than the individual islands together.
