Is there a way to add a thumbnail image to the G-code in Cura 5.1.0?

If so, how can this be done?

Would the thumbnail be generated by Cura

or do I need to supply an image (.jpeg or .png, etc)?

What size does the thumbnail image need to be?

Thanks in advance for anyone's help - Most appreciated!

    Nallath,

    Thank you for help!

Not sure how I missed that in the list of extensions. It worked perfectly.

TIP:  For all using Windows, install the PowerToys v0.64 found here:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/install

The power toys has a windows explorer (File Manager) previewer for GCODE, STL and a few other types.

For gcode you have to have a thumbnail in the code. Hence my initial question.

Thanks to Nallath, I can now see the preview in windows as well as the 3D printers display!

    Thanks again,

    AF

My thumbnail does not appear on Btt TFT35 v3.
    Cura 5.6

Make sure you're using the Create Thumbnail post-processor (go to Extensions > Post Processing > Modify G-Code and click Add a script)

But on a lot of newer printers the thumbnail creation in Cura doesn't work because they use a different format to what Cura produces. Try looking around to see if anyone has produced a script or written instructions for your printer, but be ready to accept the possibility that it just ain't gonna happen (like I haven't found a working way for my Ender-3 V3 SE... although not even Creality Print includes thumbnails half the time, so it's definitely not a Cura problem).
