Its more like a general thing. Guess I will stay on 4.13. for now, which isnt an issue for me. Always worked great for what I was trying to achieve. Thanks for the information.

Unfortunetly, if you don't want to use the new engine with the variable line width you'll have to stay on 4.13.
Here is an overview of settings that we introduced to tune the variable line width.

If it's model specific we can try to work with Mesh Modifiers to make certain parts single walled.
