Posted · Ultimaker S3 profile for PrusaSlicer/SuperSlicer?

Hey @georgmierau,

Welcome to the Ultimaker Community. 😉

I don't have the file that you are looking for but I'm super curious why you would want to move away from Cura.

What are you missing that PrusaSlicer and/or SuperSlicer does have? 🤔

I'm rather happy with Cura, but recently I tried to replicate this lovely pattern on the top/bottom layer of the print (Hilbert Curve), sadly it is not available in Cura 5.1.0:

Hilbert Curve infill for the top and/or bottom layer

It is available in PrusaSlicer 2.5.0 though: Print Settings → Infill → Bottom fill pattern → Hilbert Curve

The other reason is: I just like trying and learning new things 🙂

    Hey @georgmierau,

    This looks super cool 🤯

Now I want to try it myself aswell.🤩

I really hope someone drops in to share the profile.

There is a way to define your own infill in Cura based on a picture.
I wrote a quick tutorial here to add TSP infill:
    https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/13020

But I don't think it exactly matches what you are looking for.

If I remember correctly, Mark build the Hilbert Curve in his Cura fork:

    Looks like he actually did:

    Thank you!

I'm still interested in the S3 profile for PrusaSlicer though 😉

    Dear UM colleagues

I have been looking for a long time for a way to use my Ultimaker S3 with the Prusa slicer.

This doesn't mean that I don't like CURA, quite the contrary, I have been using CURA regularly and this software does not disappoint me.

The Ultimaker S3 3D printer is spectacular. It prints very well, it takes very little effort to set it up, little maintenance, it prints with great quality, it doesn't require great skills, I've had mine for 2 years and I'm very satisfied in many ways.

However, there are some features in the Prusa Sliser that I would really like to see working in CURA Slicer.

One of them, which I think is genius, is the ability to be able to hide the seams very well using a simple painting on the corners where I want the seams to be hidden placed.

So here are two questions for anyone who can help me:

    1) Is it possible to selectively hide perfectly the seams like on the Prusa Slicer?

    2) Is it possible to install the Prusa slicer to my Ultimaker S3 printer?

I would greatly appreciate any help!

    Thanks
