Go to the MarketPlace and load the plugin "Printer Settings". One of the settings it has is "Diameter". Set your filament diameter there and you should be good.
When I set the diameter in the Machine Settings dialog to 4.0 and then checked the Printer Settings, it was indeed listed as 2.85.

You can go over to Github and put in a bug report. Zipping a project file would be good and provide information to start an investigation.
