Hi Dustin,
Thanks for the info! Is it possible to pause the print on the S5?
Which firmware are the Ultimaker printers running? I couldn't find this information. Is it Klipper?
AFAIK, hidden inside each UM printer is a fork of a rather old version of Marlin. However the modern ones (Ultimaker 3 and newer, including the Ultimaker 2+ Connect) have a proprietary linux-based firmware shell around that Marlin-based controller.

No it is not Klipper the S series run a customized (older) version of Marlin which is referred to as Griffin
This is not based on Klipper, its custom as there is a pre-processing module in the printer itself that intercepts the gcode and processes it prior to being handed off to the motion controller
Yes you can pause the print (S series only, this does not apply to 2+Connect) with the post processing plugin in UltiMaker Cura, ensure "Method" is set to Griffin.
The 2+Connect uses a version of firmware similar to the S series but is very slimmed down due to the considerably reduced specifications of the hardware in the pre-processor

Speicifically, the UM 2+C uses this version of Marlin:
https://github.com/Ultimaker/UltimakerMarlin/tree/Ultimaker2%2BConnect
Support for the G4 "dwell" command (to pause for a number of seconds) seems to be absent from this version.

If you are referring to the UltiMaker 2+ Connect
The answer would be no. The firmware does not support these pause commands from any slicer.
