Cura 5.3 & 5.4 keeps closing small gaps

Hey everyone, I'm having issue where cura keeps ignoring small gaps in parts. Cura 5.2 works fine, but in Cura 5.3 & 5.4 it's an issue. The issue looks slightly different in cura 5.3 & 5.4 but exists in both. Am I missing a setting or is there a bug in the software?

You may just select "Print Thin Walls" found under "Walls" in "Print Settings".
