Why does Cura not support a Creality K1 Max 3D Printer?

I'm not able to connect my  Creality K1 Max printer to Cura. When I try to connect a new printer with the correct IP address the device is not found. In this case I can't use this software. Other slicers are able to.

While I can't speak for this instance in particular, profiles for printers not manufactured by UltiMaker are contributed to the Cura code repository by either their manufacturers or (more often) community members.

 

Cura does not come with a profile for the K1 Max, which could explain why it will not connect (connecting over a network is not something I'm too familiar with since I've never had a printer which does it).

 

It's possible someone has posted a working profile or instructions for how to get it working somewhere else online, I suggest searching to see if anyone has.

Direct Network printing in UltiMaker is generally only supported on UltiMaker 3d printers.
Connection to 3rd party printers usually comes from a 3rd party plugin from the marketplace.

TLDR;
Support for K1 Max is missing, because no one bothered to contribute the support.
Try asking Creality why, its not UltiMaker's responsibility.
