Posted · Elegoo mars 1 build plate

I just got a cheap elegoo mars 1 resin printer and I have 2 filament printers but its my first time trying resin. The mars came missing the build plate and the tank vat. I'm gonna buy a tank online but the build plates seem to be out of stock anywhere. Question is, would there be any reason to not try to model and print the build plate on my filament printer? I would use threaded rods and lots of infill to make it strong, PETG, and buy a metal bed for it.

Any advice or concerns I might run into?

Hi there! This isn't really support forum for third party printers and I don't know if many of the regulars around here have resin printers (or Elegoo printers) so we might not be able to help you.

You should probably try places like /r/elegoo or there's bound to be some other forums or something out there where people know their Elegoo 🙂

UltiMaker Cura does not formally support Resin based machines either.. think that was a modified version of Cura or plugin that did that.
