New Firmware version 9.0.0

My printers just notified me that version 9.0.0 is available for download. No further notification came by elsewhere (that I could find). What is new? Will a new Cura be required to deploy new features?

Was wondering the same thing. I just installed it out of curiosity - no obvious differences that I noticed, other than the current date and time being shown on the top right of the screen. (UTC time with no obvious way of adding timezones)

The release notes are coming soon.. there was some complications getting them published, im told they should be live by friday (likely sooner)

can you PLEASE turn off the popup notification. We need to keep our firmware locked to v7 due to CRC errors that v8 introduced (still waiting on a fix?) and now students have hit the go button on the notification. We have the settings locked behind a pin code for a reason, yet the popup defeats the whole thing 

 

Please list the bug fixes in the notes for clarity on what we will have fixed

 

Just noticed there is no downgrade path. great. I'll be hitting up support again for the CRC error

I fully agree that it's a bad idea to offer updates through a popup, especially when the other settings are locked down!
