Part is "laying" in cura but will printed as "standing"

Hi,

i have a small problem i have a part that i have drawed in inventor. I exported it to a STL File. When i load this file in cura, than is this part "standing" so i rotate it 90 degrees so that the part is laying on the bed in cura. Then i go to print and my UM1 prints it in standing.

sorry my english is not very good, but i hope you know what i mean.

Your Cura image shows the part coloured grey indicating it is too big to print, so probably when you save the gcode it's saving the last gcode created which was when it was sitting upright. By rotating the object so it can run corner to corner you should be able to get it to print.

Yeah! You are right! I just tried it out and turned the part 45 degrees now is it yellow!

When you get rotation *almost* flat then choose "lay flat" in rotation menu.

Such large flat part will be difficult to print - it will tend to lift at the corners. You want it to stick real well so use the "brim" feature and use glue and keep the bed hot - maybe even 75C to keep it down.

Also those 2 mushroom shaped things will have some trouble - I think it will eventually recover and print the overhangs but it will be a bit ugly and need some cleanup unless you add support.
