Scaling How does that work ?

Ok I have a model designed 1 to 1 using meters (big buildings)

I take my model and scale it to the exact scale i need (im monent 1 to 500) for presentation models.

But when I bring in my models into Cura4 and leave the scale 1to 1, and print my model, it always comes out too small.

What kind of auto scaling is going on with cura4 for ultimaker ?

Best wishes and thanks.

Ian :D

There should be no extra scaling except for the scale factor you give in. 1 "unit" in the model should come out as 1 mm.

mmm not sure about that ?

i have a model which is 70 meters long, i just saved it as a STL, no tweaking. brought it into Cura and it is tiny.

I did no conversion, saved out my 3d model as 1to1 in METERS.

Because I cant find a measuring tool in Cura, I cant measure the object and try and find out what scale conversion is going on ?

Here is a photo to illustrate the problem.

    Thanks.

    Ian :)

if you saved it as 70m, with meter units it will most likely become 70mm. You can judge scaling from the bottom of the preview, which has 1 square is 10x10mm.

Any future posibility of independently scaling each axis?

    Not likely.

After printing something in both Cura & RepG (a 50mmx50mm square) Cura was coming out at 49.5mm, versus RepG 50mm.

Whilst I appreciate there's probably some other setting somewhere that could be adjusted, I changed the scale to 1.01, reprinted, and everything is as it should be.
