Sounds like your bed might be too far from your nozzle. Also externally dirty nozzle seems to make it easier for the plastic "curl" around the nozzle.

Also curling around the nozzle can result from a blockage in the nozzle, needing an atomic pull to clear. If you manually extrude filament, does it flow out from the nozzle absolutely perpendicularly? If yes then probably not your problem but if no then probably is your problem.

Hi Welcome to the forum.
Clean the glass with alcohol to make sure there are no greasy fingerprints on it and try again.
Are you using ultimaker Pla?
Are you using the glue Stick?
What temperatures are you printing With?
