  2. On my machine i have this "grippy-surface" problem too.

your lucky to have this on the invisible back side

first i though it was intolerant filament. because other layers come out perfect like yours..

it tends to settle only on outer walls that have other geometries right next to it. (thin walls too)

i didnt found a way to have it solved but printing very slow... and thats not realy a solution. ;)

  3. I had quite some good prints now and the problems didnt came back..

so i guesss it was eigther EMI, Printsspeed, or temporary Gcode failures..

on Hardware side, i didnt change more than the cables...

The Rods are lubricated with sewingmachine oil..

We had EMI problems in my printer workshop in Newzealand. but only on one of two Ultimakers.

Endstopcables were put directly on axis stepper motor cables and that will result in errors...

It was solved easily by redoing the wirelayout on the bottom of the ultimaker.

  4. Newest Cura on MacOS 10.8.2

"open file location" function doesnt work anymore.. dont know why. i didnt change anything.

Also the finder dialogs are realy realy slow.

I wonder if delete and reinstall will help. first i will try delete the pref files.

thers definitely some cache-thrash-data or similar clogging up the app...

i miss the speedy workflow it once had.

  5. same here..

    Problem solved like this:

not buying from the scource again... (emailed them about the incorrect tolerances)

Installed a ID 4mm OD 6mm PVA Bowden tube as a second extruding setup.

Now i can swap the nozzle between my two bowden tubes... Of course you have to swap on the feeder side too.

Later im going to add a second nozzle if helping software changes are in sight.

  6. just made it work with my ultimaker.. no firmware changes.

copied the .hex files from Cura into right place in repetier..

    /Applications/Repetier-Host Mac.app/Contents/Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Headers

    other settings i made.

    Baud to 25000

    stop bits 2

    Parity None

    Transferprotocol Auto

    No pingpong

    no firware ok sending

  7. Finally someone designed what I think is the future for the nozzles. Multi colour in the same nozzle:

    http://www.3ders.org/articles/20120825- ... nting.html

Would be nice to have it adjusted for the Ultimaker somehow.

I saw this recently. was amazed.. think about 4 or 5.

not just because we can but because CMYK!

about colour printing. (cyan, magenta, yellow, Black/white)

but needs complicated nozzle integrated mixer.

all in all we could head towards full colour printing earlier than thought.

:ugeek:

  9. i think you also need the filament drive mecanism. wooden parts and ballbearings.

(there where the stepper motor sits and the extruder-drive-upgrade goes in)

you find the building instructions on wiki helpful i think.

its not in the shop like this..

but you can email the sales team and they will find a solution for you.

you could source these parts yourself.. dont forget the small extruder pulley.

there are free lasercut drawings available online on thingiverse.

    you need

    8mm bitchwood

    4mm delrin or acryl glas

    8mm delrin or acryl glas

  10. Can you paste the start.gcode you use?

i never got to test netfabb because its not free..

if you have the same firmware that Cura would use, i would test to copy paste some lines from the start.gcode from cura. maybe that works out.

It zeros the printhead to the front left then pre-extrudes a little and goes to the middle of the plattform to start the print.

    hers my start.gcode
