  1. When i took mine apart the encoder had come away, but i was still able to use it while waiting for replacement part,

I had to have the board laying on the table in front of the machine, so i could turn it to move round the menu, then used a pen to push the center to select things...

Link to another hack and encoder part number http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7332-main-encoder-broke-the-pot-not-the-knob-need-new-one/

  2. I have been looking into this and the fan on my UMO is 12v but the supply from the board to the fan is 19v from what i have read, i have a second 12v fan due to arrive next week for a dual fan setup...

I think i see a post from sander saying he done this and wired up 2 x 12v fan in parallel but can't find the post now,

So my question is do i wire them up in parallel or series electronics is not my department....

  3. Hi Guys

I just finished building my UMO must say it was fun and enjoyed building it.

I have 2 faults first one was the temp reading on the ulticontrol was 93 degrees when cold, took me an hour to find the fault, but it looks like a short somewhere on the wires, i swaped them over to the second set for the dual extruder and temp reads correct now, so will contact where i got it from to see what they say about a replacment..

The most anoying one is i can not turn the thing off, The switch does not turn the machine off, is this a common fault that i can fix or does this sound more terminal and requires a new board ? i have to unplug it to turn it off at the momment.

Apart from that first prints were good and not far off from my um2...

Fixed the power switch, put in middle postion and pushed on it very had then it seemd to work again, so all is good now...

  4. Got this in an email from Imaker yesterday

"To stay true to its core values, iMakr has decided to stop selling the latest generation of MakerBot (Stratasys, Inc. NASDAQ: SSYS) 3D Printers (Replicator 5th Generation and Replicator Z18) following negative feedback from its customers. iMakr will of course continue to support its existing customers who have previously purchased these products."
