  1. You have got to be kidding....they just started printing in mid air?
  2. Thanks man(i guess) :-P it seems to work just fine now..... i love this community..... i'm so glad i didn't buy a replicator
  3. Hi there.... I dont seem to get my TweakAtZ plugin to work properly in Cura 13.12... (i havent tryed any other version of Cura, i must add) I sort of installed the plugin, and so far so good, it shows up in cura plugins... I can also fill in data and stuff like that.. but it jus doesn't seem to affect my g-code in anyway. I for instanse want to change the temp on Z0.5.. but no M104, M109 or S shows up in my g-code.... Also when using the pause at height plugin, it moves to the given pause position and then it immediately resumes printing.... Help (Daid). I have set Cura to UM2 but g-code flavor to (rep-rap) GRTZ Cor
  4. When unloading filament it happened to Mr add well on one occasion. I guess the filament was still sort of stuck in the hot end... Maybe the extruder is just not limited in force by the firmware when changing filament?
  5. I think they really need to learn how to tighten screws properly. On my new UM2 i also had to tighten all the screws because my prints were screwed up. First time i forgot my extruder screw. that cost me another ruined print...
  6. Try buying steel ones instead of stainless steel...steel bolts (especially 12.9 strength class) can handle so much more than stainless steel bolts... I don't know why um company even uses stainless...they are much more expensive...
  7. Gelukkig nieuwjaar!
  8. Hi Iluminarti, i red your blog yesterday, but the settings i'm most interested in i (tip diameter and densitiy) i could not find.. due to some server error your blog seems unavailable at the moment.... but dont worry i also got pyrotechnic stuff to worry about tonight... ... Happy newyear in advance..... greetz from Holland
  9. Hi illuminarti...very very impressive print. I have been playing around with meshmixer support myself and found it difficult to get satisfying results. I was wondering if you could share some if your meshmixer settings like. threshold angle for support and density setting for the number if tips..and also tip diameter... I know from a blog you posted that you increased the post diameter to about 3mm but the rest leaves a lot if tinkering. Thanks in advance... Gr Cor
  10. Nice Print IRobertI.... Here's a print i did for my brother... (he works at rotterdam zoo) And i also printed a set of doorknobs for my daughters new (self built) wardrobe.
  11. Gezellig...zie dit lijntje nu pas voor het eerst...sinds vorige week een UM2 in huis...jippie. Gr Cor
  12. Thanks for all your time and effort...i guess it's up to Daid now.....Gr Cor.
  13. Same here...very annoying.... In my case it seems to retract the amount it printed until the moment of abortion...
  14. Hi Daid... i Guess. I have uploaded the new avalaible firmware for my UM2 yesterday. I am still playing with some settings for my new UM2 so thats why i abort quite a lot of prints. However with the new firmware in the machine, whenever i abort a print it retracts the filament somewhere in between 5cm to 30 cm....... This is quite anoying, cause it pulls a hole "blob thing" from my nozzle so i have to fiddle a bit to get it working again. In Cura i use the "rep/rap" g-code style Is my new firmware (from Cura 13.12) wrongly uploaded or somthing or is this a new bug...... Yes i know it's Christmas so dont get onto it rigt away...  B) p.s. While writing this i aborted a just started print and it almost dit not retract the filament... perhaps it retracts the total amount of printed filament lengt untill the moment of abortion.... (wrong word for a dutchman)
  15. Hi there, i have question: I have received my UM2 last week :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P And as for cura, i switched it to "rep/rap marlin" type G-code... (just because i'm a control freak i guess) But i just cant get my printer to wait until the bed temp is reached. i editted my start code: like this: ;Sliced at: {day} {date} {time} ;Basic settings: Layer height: {layer_height} Walls: {wall_thickness} Fill: {fill_density} ;Print time: {print_time} ;Filament used: {filament_amount}m {filament_weight}g ;Filament cost: {filament_cost} M190 S{print_bed_temperature} M109 S{print_temperature} G21 ;metric values G90 ;absolute positioning M107 ;start with the fan off G28 X0 Y0 ;move X/Y to min endstops G28 Z0 ;move Z to min endstops G1 Z50.0 F{travel_speed} ;move the platform down 15mm G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length G1 F200 E20 ;extrude 20mm of feed stock G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length again G1 F{travel_speed} ;Put printing message on LCD screen M117 Printing... But it still does not wait until bed temp is reached??? also it does not properly fill in the parameters such as print date and used filament length... See my g-code example: ;Generated with Cura_SteamEngine 13.11.2 ;Sliced at: Sat 21-12-2013 15:37:32 ;Basic settings: Layer height: 0.1 Walls: 1.2 Fill: 20 ;Print time: #P_TIME# ;Filament used: #F_AMNT#m #F_WGHT#g ;Filament cost: #F_COST# M190 S60 M109 S210 G21 ;metric values G90 ;absolute positioning M107 ;start with the fan off G28 X0 Y0 ;move X/Y to min endstops G28 Z0 ;move Z to min endstops G1 Z50.0 F15000 ;move the platform down 15mm G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length G1 F200 E20 ;extrude 20mm of feed stock G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length again G1 F15000 ;Put printing message on LCD screen M117 Printing... ;Layer count: 149 ;LAYER:0 M107 G0 F7500 X51.59 Y118.45 Z0.30 ;TYPE:SKIRT G1 F2100 E0.00000 G1 F1200 X51.93 Y118.33 E0.00615 G1 X52.72 Y118.11 E0.01987 Any ideas???? Greetzzzzz Cor
  16. It sure makes a lot of sense to me.....good thinking....
  17. My very first print on my brandnew UM2...... yeeeeehaaaaa
  18. Iluminarti, whats your personal experience with this function...sounds to me like this"cool head lift" could also cause a lot of oozing and pressure loss in the hotend...
  19. There is also a setting "min speed". Regardless of how slow your printer wants to move to stay above the desired min layer time, it won't move slower than this min speed. But lowering this"min speed" even more than standard setting I'd not really recommended. This will transfer so much heat from the slow moving head into your print that you will get blobs etc. try printing 2 or more objects at once... Be sure to set your gantry height at 0. (found in printer settings)
  20. How on earth do you guys paint something like that..... I really like what i see,but don't have a qlue as where to start painting my own prints like that....
  21. Nice and clean....great job. Can i download the design somewhere?
  22. I think there is a bit more going on than just "problems with one of our suppliers".last Tuesday (Nov 19th) i called to see if the already delayed schedule was still in effect. And they told me that i could still expect my UM2 this week... Four working days later i called again because of the rumours in this post. And they told me that there was a further delay. Reading the posts above the further delay could be around three weeks. Now I'm puzzeld. In just four days they managed to get a three week further delay... This seems a bit of impossible to me. More likely they wanted to address some issues regarding the packaging, wiring of the fans, SD card errors, lose coming rods etc.etc and stopped the production to address these issues. Anyway it would be very nice to hear something like that instead of some bogus story about supply chain issues. Please Ultimaker be an"open source".......
