It also looks like a high infill rate. I once had the same problem and was scared it would clog. Turned out the infill was at like 60-80

(See my analysis of Ultimaker Original under-extrusion for more details on that - the general principles still apply for the Ultimaker²).
Wow, what an interesting read! I love how the community tries to improve the printers so much and I'll be glad to add to that in the future.
Like mastory asked, what do we need to do to run the cylinder test on the UM1?

I've been watching the Ultimaker 2 hot end upgrade topic, only to realize that they were talking about the UM2
I'm eagerly awaiting the heated bed upgrade coming into open beta/final and the dual extruder into final

I only have my UM1 for a few weeks now, but not enough time to play with it due to exams. One of the prints I had this on was without overhang, I believe it was this SketchUp file I converted:
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=8f187dc09654501c70f2373efbf66671
The top of the dome showed the same effect, but because it was not an overhang, it was only forming a curly turd like top. Will post pictures as soon as exams are done.
But I believed it was due to the small surface area and the constant heating of the nozzle. Even though it might have been the minimal 5 seconds, I believe that the proximity of the nozzle is enough to mess with the temperature.
I think I saw a Z retraction option somewhere in expert settings, making the build plate lower when waiting for the next layer. Perhaps that is something you can test?

Plugins were and are disabled, looked into firewall, seemed all open for cura.
I have no clue, installed cura on another computer, no problems there. It just disappeared here.
It doesn't matter if the Ultimaker is plugged in or not, sd card is in or not.

Are we restricting the material, to even up the competition? Or is everyone free to do whatever they want?

I must say that the A version has pretty rough edges, or atleast so it seems. It also has quite some overhang the can't be printed with supports. Looks like a good challenge after I tweaked temperatuur vs speed.

I've had this problem too on 1 computer, couldn't reproduce it on the other though.
It doesn't show the estimate on the standard robot even. It does the bar, and then nothing...
I believe I have all plugins disabled.

Wow targeter, that Pz IV looks super sweet! Everything is printed? Even the working threads?
Did you make the 3D file yourself, and is it somewhere online?
I'll post the upgrades I've printed for my UM1 after my exams

Wow, that was a long read.
I'm interested in doing the testing for the UM1, to get it right finally. It's been messing up prints randomly, at the first layer and later.
We could make a seperate thread for UM1 tests, or just add a new list in the first post.
Can you just load the Gcode file on the UM1? Or do you need to rework stuff since there is no heated bed etc?

I had the same problem(I was missing the blue clip) and used another printer to print the bowden clamp. Works perfect!

Cool! I've been busy with another style of stabilizer. Looking forward to more info!

Im still struggling with a nice and fast ultimaker robot, so the challenges can be extremely useful!

How about letting the winner pick a new file? Otherwise we might have 10 options to pick from one month and 0 the other?
Monthly challenge?

And here I am, thinking I would just load it in cura and hit print xD
