  1. Indeed, printing multiple objects is best, especially when having small details. Pro: you have multiple parts to select the best from Pro: if in handling afterward something breaks or goes wrong, you have spares Pro: as described already, time to cool one item if the other is being printed Con: more material & waste

    Octopi

Alvast bedankt! Leo.
  4. Hi, I've managed to get onto the desktop of the RPi. Only, there's only a waste basket, and no configs whatoever! I've put the img 0.12.0 onto th micro SD card for my RPi 2B. What can I do to get more than just a clean desktop? Thanks in advance! Leo.
  5. Hi all, So, as I understand well, the ALL of the old stuff is getting back, and alive? That'll be great. Indeed, better late than even later. Promise: I'm going to check more frequently, and hope it will revive. Keep up the good work! Leo.
  6. I think leopop was talking of freely configurable machine profiles where you (you, the user) put in all the parameters that strictly refer to the machine (mainly geometry like bed size, head size, offsets, etc) yourself ... It was like that in the old Cura, I think. >> Yes, Jens, completely true. Thank you for the elaborate response. In previous Cura, I could create a custom machine (which in my situation is not that big a thing, since only the build size is bigger - all the rest is similar to the UMO, UM2, ...). Jens, you say it should not be called "machine", but in reality it does point to a different machine. So if I could switch between the bigger beast at the office and my UMO+ at home, it would be fine. BTW: I can always use the older Cura, and be fine, though! Thanks, Leo.
  7. Hello all, In this new Cura (yes, it's truly very nice! Great step ahead, thanks, programmers!!!) I can choose only Ultimaker brand printers. Good for my UMO+, but at my office we have a bigger animal, from 3D Factories, that I could run from Cura also. Until now... Will there be a Custom type printer in the drop-down menu, with custom bed sizes? Thanks in advance! Leo.
  8. Hi there, I also see less (apparent) activity. Looking at myself, it is very difficult to get into the topics with the renewed interface. It is nice and colourful, but also less clear with much less overview of what is happening. In short, it appears to me as being more cumbersome to get trhough, and instead of daily (or multiple times a day) viewing, reading and commenting, now I find myself only once a week or two. To quickly get into the forum and check out new topics feels (yes, irrational, that is) less easy. But, this post may prove the opposite! Leo.
  9. Hi Korneel and others, Yes! I'm having similar problems. If the filling is being made, the head moves over a series of previously-laid strings and air. This, with certain speed, yields in an intermittent reaction force. This intermittent force causes the bed to vibrate, in one or more of its natural frequencies. If you play with the speed % button during the build, you can see and feel that your right within or right next to this natural frequency. Running faster or slower brings you out of the danger zone. This is a general dynamical effect. The two parameters that influence the natural frequency are stiffness and mass. Of course you can make the be stiffer by adding beams or so, but tweaking with mass is easier. My plan is to add substantial weight into the space between the bed plate and the heated bed (approx. 13mm left there), so to bring the natural frequency much down. Then, when building at reasonable speed, I end up pretty much higher frequent than this natural frequency (and hopefully not meeting the second natural response - twisting!). I was just going to experiment with it, and then discuss it here, but then this thread came across. Any better options? Post them! Leo.
Leo.
  12. Hallo printers, Net mijn UMO+ in elkaar gekregen. Leuke job!
