  1. Indeed it is. I have used this programmer https://blog.zakkemble.net/avrdudess-a-gui-for-avrdude/ With the following settings. In the beginning it kept giving a comport busy error. But after a few reboots and pressing the program button, it started to the program firmware. So my take on this. I think the board had some factory or very old or wrong software installed on it. That is way the printer behaved so strange. After the update, updating works as normal. Also the printer seems to run as normal (printing the first item now). Thanks for all the help. I would not have a working printer without it. Regards, Jan
  2. Yes, that seems to be the only option, where can I find the HEX file? do you know?
  3. I disconnected all the stepper motors, but still I get the same message as before. Very strange
  4. I have already contacted my supplier, but I do not have a response yet. I might also disconnect all the stepper motors (because they are moving and see if I can get connection to the board then. (it might be to busy doing stuff) Thanks for the help
  5. Yes, I know I have two other Ultimakers 2+ that I have updated. The buttons stay gray, but I here the Comport connecting.
  6. There is no setting in the menus for updating software. This software does not look anything like the normal Ultimaker firmware I have seen. So I cannot update it.
  7. Is this some sort of test software running on a new board?
  8. I had problems with the Z-direction stepper motor and decided to replace my mainboard. I ordered a original Ultimaker board and swap them. (being very mindfull to connect the cables at the right positions. When I power up the printer this happens. It starts with the Ultimaker logo. Then bed goes up and down, the printhead also moves in the X and Y direction a bit. There are numbers on the display. and some settings in the a menu when pressing the button. I cannot flash new software on it, because it states there is nothing connected. Does anyone know what is going on?
  9. Mmm, where can I buy a new motherboard?
  10. I swapped out my motherboard with my second Ultimaker 2+. And it showed the same behavior. So the driver on the motherboard is broken. Need to buy a new one.
  11. I did some more experiments. I put the bed to the top position, and in the menu activated the lower buildplate function. With a screw driver (on the bottom side) I activated the z-switch. After some funny noise from the z-motor, it stop and gave the error again. So my conclusion is that the switch is ok, and reaches the software, and stops the motor. But it could still be a problem in the z-motor, or in the stepper driver on the motherboard. The grinding noise is also strange. Any idea's before I swap the motherboard?
  12. I reflashed the board also, with the latest firmware. I have two Ultimaker 2's So I could exchange the motherboard to see if that is the problem. But it is a lot of work. Thanks for the advice
  13. That is not it. The screw is still correct. If the table is in its lowest position, it presses the switch and I measured it on the motherboard. So the signal comes in. It looks like nothing is happening with it. I also replaced the switch, but it did not help. (old switch measured still ok as well).
  14. I am getting an "ER06 Z Switch Stuck". But the z-switch is connected correctly and is working fine. (measured the resistance in open en closed state on the motherboard). What could be wrong?
  15. The connector was not correctly connected any more. So it was a simple fix. It measured 109 ohm. Thanks again for the help
  16. Thanks, This is just what I was looking for. Will measure it tomorrow
  17. Does any one know, Is it the temp sensor or the motherboard?
  18. When I startup my Ultimaker it default temperature is 50 degrees. This causes bad extrusion of course. Do I need to buy a new temp sensor? or is something else wrong? Thanks
  19. After playing around with all sorts of thinks, I discovered the real issue. It seems that the bowden tube sometimes does not attack to the teflon tube. (see picture). This causes (cold) air to be blown in to the teflon tube and cooling the nozzle. I my case the clamp on the bowden tube, is warn out. (need to order a new one). For now I just turned the bowden tube around. This seems to solve this problem. But still I think the force on the bowden tube and the clamp is to great and will cause this problem again in the future. (and with other users)
  20. Thanks, I will give at a try
  21. How often should I change the teflon, (how many print hours). are there other parts that need replacing?
  22. Bedankt DidierKlein. I will try that
