  1. I too have UMS5 and recently I have been getting black screen after some inactivity. Reboot fixes the issue. But then again.
  2. Interesting, so if acceleration control and jerk control are disabled - the the accuracy should improve? What does this sat about Cura? If those controls are disabled, then the printer itself makes the decisions how to behave with regards to this those two controls.
  3. Good day once again, my fellow 3D people. As the name of the topic suggests, I am asking if I can have both print cores engaged for printing one model. Say I have a bolt with thread on both sides (pics attached). Can I have AA0.25 core print the thread part, then AA0.8 core print the middle and then AA.25 the rest? Please advise, your help and time would be very much appreciated. And one more thing... Probably pushing it here... but worth a try. As you can see, in the pic I have a nut and bolt in Cura. The above question stands as it is, but what would also be incredible if I could have the nut printed with AA.25 + bottom part of the bolt (thread) printer with the same AA0.25) + middle part of the bolt with AA.8 and the top part of the bolt with AA.25. Super cool question. Let's geek out and please tell me it is possible! And if so, would you be so kind and please suggest how to set this up. Much obliged, Regards, 3DRocketry!
  4. I am currently in Moscow, Russia. But I am happy to buy from abroad.
  5. Dear all, I’m trying to purchase an AA0.8mm print core as I want to speed up some of my prints. But I can’t find any on the market? What happened to it? Has it been cancelled? Thank you.
  6. This is great! Thank you very much for such a detailed explanation. Will definitely try Adaptive Layers.
  7. Good day, Yesterday I tried having installed both aforementioned cores on UMS5. However, print settings displayed were for AA25mm. Hence the question: Can I have both cores installed and have a choice which one to use? For instance, I wanted to have a quick print/draft, AA25 was installed in slot 1. I figured, instead of unloading the material, removing AA25mm, installing AA40mm core and loading material back in, I'd just install AA40mm into slot 2 and "mark" that for the print! But no, settings for printing were for AA25mm. Please advice!
  8. Thank you so much! If you were to use PrusaSlicer then it isn't even a simple rectangle - what do you mean by that?
  9. Ultimaker S5, Tough PLA Black Greetings, fellow 3D aficionados like myself and pros! I have recently purchased AA 0.25mm print core by Ultimaker. I am trying to print as clean a gear as possible. I tired with 0.4mm core - using a profile by CHEP on YouTube. It came out very nice and clean. However, I was keen to see what kind of results I would be able to get with a smaller print core, since the gear I am trying to best is indeed quite small (17mm in diameter). I was surprised to see the following previews in Cura: As one can see, bigger values for Layer Height produce more prominent "steps" (?) between layers. The smaller thew value for Layer height setting the smaller the steps. With Layer height value 0.06 and a rather think Line width seems to smooth out the steps. I find this occurrence very interesting. Would anyone please be so kind and share your thoughts and possible solutions for smoothing out the corners. Please find attached currently in use profile for UM S5. With Kind regards, V.A. Fine#2.curaprofile
  10. Thank you all for your input. Would you kindly suggest which brands should I consider when buying filaments? I am thinking of PLA and ABS.
  11. I am interested to hear about the problem as well.
  12. By filament dryer I mean something like Dryer Pro by PrintDry. The material station is a huge overkill for me at the moment. For the time being, I have no prerequisites. I want to get familiar with the most commonly used materials, print silly as well as tricky things, see how the printer behaves, learn it, learn the materials etc. It's a hobby, not a business. Hence, any recommendations for accessories and materials to buy first? Once again, thank you all very much for any advice.
  13. Good day, my fellow 3D geeks! I am a new member of 3D printing world and I am yet to print my first 3D model ever. I am waiting for my Ultimaker S5 to be delivered soon. I was given a gift card by the shop that sold me the printer so I have a bit of cash to spend. What materials and accessories should I get? I am not looking to do anything fancy in the first say... 6 months as I want to get used to the printer and learn its particulars first. Is the filament dryer worth getting? I have a humidifier in my apartment, so the humidity level is always between 35-40%. That you all very much in advance for the advice!
