  1. Mine (9900k, 32gigs of ram) opens it (takes a moment to load) but chokes around 90% of autoslice. Mesh tools shows a warning that the model may not be watertight. Disabled auto-slice, tried to fix the normals but that just locks up cura on my end. Sorry. That's one big-ass litho lol. Prusa opens it relatively quick but shows 79849 auto-repaired errors. That's probably why it won't slice. Huge non-manifold model
  2. Takes a moment (no spinning cursor), but saved on the first go. I like/want/need those thumbnails though. just for some extra info, exporting gcode isn't a problem with thumbnails enabled.
  3. This a basic temp tower. Trying to make the following changes to the file > change existing "change at Z layer" entry 2 from layer 9 to layer 1 > add "change at Z", change at layer: 2, set fan speed: 100 and move that to the bottom > move "create thumbnail to the bottom" > add "display progress on LCD" with percentage enabled > set "change at Z" script to 3rd from the bottom > change z-seam position to "user specified": back > set bottom initial layer to "lines" File > save project > spins for a minute > Cura crashes, every single time. *Been trying save these changes for the past half hour* Crashes EVERY DAMN TIME. I don't care how long it takes me. I will make those changes. It sure as hell isn't my system. 9900k, 32gigs of ram, samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB as boot drive (where cura is installed) cura.zip
  4. Feel free to tell me how to get them or which ones. But it'll be pretty hard to get startup logs if it hangs on startup.
  5. No it isn't. This is happening to me on just about 1/2 cura startups on 4.10. Delete config line > starts up fine > log in > locks up again > delete > works > log in > hangs again. Rinse & repeat indefinitely
  6. Anyone? Just tried again with a smaller item. A temp tower. Still engages cooling at layer 2 at full speed instead of the specified layer 4 (regular fan speed at layer: 4). If i go Fan speed: 100, regular fan speed: 0, maximum fan speed 100. The part cooling fan doesn't kick in at all no matter what layer. Not 2, not 4, not 5 or any higher) TempTower_PLA_235-190.3mf
  7. I guess you didn't read the title? That's the whole point, if i pick "tree" they don't support the overhang. If i pick normal they start floating in mid-air.
  8. I have a very tiny part, that i'd love to print with a 0.4mm nozzle. It needs to stand upright. Can anyone make it work and post the settings? I'm still very new at this. This particular part will usually be printed in multiples of 6, or 1 single Filament_Plug.stl
  9. yeah setting the first 3 lines to 100 (fan speed)/ 0 (regular) / 100 (Max) isn't it. That sets normal fan speed to 0 causing it to not kick in at all. Luckily i cought it in time after starting a 27h print. Manually flipped it on in octoprint.
  10. Aha, so the first 3 lines should be 100/0/100?
  11. Under "Cooling" i have the following settings which to my understanding (regular fan speed at layer 4) means no part cooling until layer 4 (layers 1-3) starts. Under "Speed i have "Number of slow layers 4" (which equal my bottom layer count). Yet despite those settings, part cooling STILL KICKS IN at Layer 2 (albeit at a 33% according to octoprint) but the fan is visbily spinning. This is causing bed adhesion problems for me, despite using brim (and 3DLac). Am i missing something? Advanced_Tool_Tray.3mf
  12. Sorry totally forgot about this cause i didn't get any notifications (despite being subbed). Where do i enter this? Under machine settings. Currently using the default start and end g-code while doing some research, shouldn't M109 (wait for hotend temperature) be used in combo with M104 (set hotend temperature), i can read but understanding things is a different matter
  13. Right now when starting a print cura heats up to full print temp, then starts auto levelling, then starts print. This results in loss of filament due to the filament drooping from the nozzle. Is there a way to do it like PrusaSlicer does? Prime nozzle to 120° > start autolevelling sequence > Raise nozzle a little and move nozzle to X-Y home for nozzle prime line > raise temp to desired print temp > print prime line > start print? That way no filament drooping occurs as the nozzle doesn't reach full temp until AFTER it went through the Autolevelling sequence (BLTouch)
  14. Project file attached. In the prepare stage there's a bottom layer on the holding the pegs in position (to prevent individual ones from coming loose from the bed). In the preview section that bottom layer gets removed for some reason and only the pegs get printed. I already tried mesh tools > fix modal normals but that doesn't change anything. xxx_-_connector_d10x10.3mf
  15. i did but you didn't answer the other points. If i specify 85% flow in material profile, and the quality profile i initially created (i have custom ones based on the defaults) states 100%. Which one is going to be used. The 85% one or the 100% that's "default" for that quality profile.
  16. hmm, didn't get a notification email. Odd. Anyway, mine is a cr-10 max so only 1 extruder (no MMU upgrades) If it is being respected, then why does the sidebar flow still sais 100%, unless i manually change it to 85? Or am i misinterpreting. Which one is correct? i specify a flow of 85 in material settings, leave cura at 100 (default) => should result in 85% flow (desired) i specify a flow of 85 in material settings, leave cura at 100 (default) => results in 100% flow i specify a flow of 85 in material settings, leave cura at 100 (default) EXCEP¨T i change "initial layer flow to 105%" for example => results in a 105% flow for layer 1 (or the number of "slow" layers?), after that changes to the flow in material settings (in this case 85%) does changing quality profile override user material flow?
  17. So i finally got around to calibrating my extruder after primarily getting to know it (only have it 4 months now). using a flowrate of 100% my CR-10 max was pushing out line widths of 0.52-0.55 with a nozzle diameter of 0.4. After doing flow tests on mutiple pla filaments i have i found out a flow of 85-86% results in walls of 0.4 (to max 0.42). Now i tried to set flowrate per material but that doesn't seem possible initially. Figured i'd go look for a plugin. Found "material settings" and while that DOES let you configure it in material profiles. It's not used in cura itself. The plugin specifically states What's the point then of the plugin if the value set per material isn't respected in cura for slicing?
  18. That seems to have done it. As i removed them from the account and keeping the changes open in cura. Materials started disappearing within cura 🙂 I no longer have any of them in my cura and no more prompts!
  19. So from within cura as i'm learning things (i've now owned my CR-10 Max for about 2 months) i've installed a few plugins and materials. Now the plugins work fine, it's the materials i installed from the marketplace i no longer need. I made my own material profiles based on the local available filaments. So i removed those material plugins. However the installed material plugins seem to have synced with my UM account, and now Cura prompts on every launch that changes have been detected with my account and to "sync" plugins and material packages. It seems the synching is only 1 way. As in it'll synch your installed plugins to the account, but it won't remove them once no longer needed. The question is now, how do i stop Cura from bugging me to reinstall material packages i no longer need or want?
