I just tested the retraction pyramid and also set in the expert settings some parameters in the jump section, but I could not see any retraction, so it seems also to me, it is still not working. Too bad I liked the ease of netfabb. Also the slicer does a nice way to when printing surfaces.

The ":" in the comments is now deleted in the gcode so a direkt print via printrun should work. It worked via the ulticontroller.

So let´s wait and see until the change log is updated

what values did you try for retraction? 400 is the default, afaik, and the max is 999?

I had some values in retraction that seem to work fine as far as speed (I don't know what they were off the top of my head) however, my issue with retraction was that it appeared to always go the wrong direction. Before a move it would PUSH on causing a huge blob and back-pressure that caused a plug half the time... then it would move with WORSE stringing, and then pull off after the move which results in not enough extrusion immediately after the move.

I'm very happy with NetFabb right now with no retraction at all... but it sure would be nice if it had working retraction.

I haven't used netfabb in ages, including the latest version, but did you try entering a negative pull-back speed?

Yes I tried that. Unfortunately it doesn't accept negative values...

Just trying the new firmware now... One welcome change is that after saving the GCode to a file it has a popup message indicating when it is finished... It used to hang while writing and then come back with no indication... also it seems to write faster...

Netfabb 4.9.3 upgrade seems to be mostly Fabbster driven:

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
