Finally got around to trying out the 1.0mm nozzle(Olsson block etc).

It's pretty silly looking, and I see why it's nicknamed the toothpaste nozzle :)

Handy for super quick low resolution prints though.

0.8mm layer height

230c printing temp

60c bed

15mm/s

Colorfabb traffic light red PLA

Sliced in Simplify3d

And yes, i know my fan shroud looks a mess. But it works great after I modded it with some Sugru :)

I got sick of the custom shrouds warping and generally not going well for me. I used the sugru to improve the noise/vibrations and even airflow a little on the original version.

Actually, could i paint it I wonder to improve the look?

Wow, what is that "hood" you've made?

    Love the dinosaurs!

I bought the hood from a 3d printer store in Germany(can't remember the name, but the owner is registered on here i think). It's pretty great, but the clear plastic is acrylic and gets scratched up, I might replace that with polycarbonate sheets at some stage(maybe when getting the a door made up).

The dinos are just some vase mode prints i was testing out.

The 1mm nozzle works fine at more reasonable layer heights. I'm getting excellent PQ on single-wall "vase" prints at .25mm.

I should add that this is at 40mm/sec speed, moving 12mm3/sec. of filament. (Bondtech feeder, 35W heater)
