Posted · Ultimaker 3 - What happens when you run out of material mid-print?

Hello!

Just received our UM3+ and were wondering, does the printer know if it has run out of a filament on a spool? And if not, is there a method anyone's tried for hot-swapping spools mid print?

Thanks!

so this is what I do.. i either pause the print if it's single material (i just watch the spool, the printers are right behind me) or i wait for the material change with dual extrusion, then hot swap
