Is it safe to bring the heated bed to 100?

I'be been trying to figure out the right settings to print using Ultimaker Nylon filament with Simplify3d

I found a site that recommended Extruder = 250 and Heated Bed = 100.

I printed a piece with those settings... it didn't come out bad... but not great either.

Next time I tried to print something... the printer started to skip the bed heating part jumping straight to the extrusion with the bed cold...

In panic I tried to find out what was the issue... I found a couple of references about faulty connections... so I opened it up.. checked everything without finding a problem and put it back together.

I tried again and the printer bed started ok...

That gave me pause. so... is it safe to bring the bed up to 100 degrees for printing?

Any other comments about Ultimaker's Nylon and Simplify3D?

Yes, it is safe. People print with the bed temp over 100deg all the time for materials like PC.

I have printed a lot with UM Nylon and the default bed temp.

What issues are you having with your print?

Sounds to me something was not as it should be in the startup sequence in S3D. No hardware error could make the printer skipping the heating of the bed, except a faulty temperature sensor (which shows about 70 deg too much?). But such a faulty temperature sensor would trigger an temp sensor error in the firmware for sure. So nothing to worry about the hardware.
