UM2 Software Update

During my troubleshooting with my restarting printer i've tried to update the firmware via CURA.

 

While Upgrading the Firmware with "Automatically upgrade Firmware", it tells me that a communication error occured, following by the printer to quickly restart (LEDS on and off again).

 

Can this have something to do with the faulty PSU?

How long is the USB cable you're using?

 

Can you connect the printer to your computer successfully with other programs? (Pronterface is a good choice.)

 

It could be an issue at the board, but it could also be a cable issue. Super long cables can time out while trying to transfer the data. Have you tried more than one cable?

No, I've not tried other cables or Programms yet. The car is about 70 cm long.

I would try and connect it to another program with that cable and see if you get a connection. Here's the link for Pronterface: http://www.pronterface.com/

If that fails, I would try a different/shorter cable.

I had the same problem for some reason with the newer versions of Cura - I now keep ver. 2.5 just for firmware updates!

Might be worth a try?
