UM2 and UM2+ Difference

What is the difference between the UM2 and the UM2+?

 

Is a UM2 fitted with the upgrade kit the same as a newly purchased UM2+?

It depends a little bit how old the UM2 is though. AFAIK, there are at least two variations of the UM2 electronics. The first iteration had no way to control the small fan on the printhead, but it did have connectors for two extruders. The second version added electronics to control that fan. The UM2+ can also control that fan, but don't have drivers/connectors for the second extruder.
