Printing with 2 colors?

Posted · Printing with 2 colors?

I've had my ultimaker for a while, and I am wondering how to print with 2 colors. I've looked on youtube and read instructions, but I'm not sure how to do it within cura.

Do I have to upload 2 seperate CAD files into Cura, then fuse or merge them together to get a two-tone print?

If you are using Cura, then follow these steps.

    1. Make your object ass the two parts needed to fit together. It is a good idea to make sure that the two parts share the same pivot point location.

    2. Import each file into Cura.

    3. While separate, it is to select each model and assign the nozzle to be used to it.

    4. The left click and in the context sensitive menu, choose select all. Or, CTRL + A for select all.

    5. Then left click again and go to the same menu and choose "Merge Models". Do not use "Group Models". Group models will not align them to each other.

    Then slice away. :)
