Read /Import AMF files

Recommended Posts

My Freecad (1.17 on Linux) can only produce AWF (additive manufacturing format) and not stl files like on windows. As  I understand it AWF is the 'new' STL format, backward comptible etc). Do I have to install an plugin in CURA  to enable this, or do I have to 'convert' the file?. If conversion is an option how is this done ?. I also tried to find a plugin in freecad to genarate STL but could not  one yet.

Thanks

    • "Back To The Future" using Generative Design & Investment Casting
Designing for light-weight parts is becoming more important, and I’m a firm believer in the need to produce lighter weight, less over-engineered parts for the future. This is for sustainability reasons because we need to be using less raw materials and, in things like transportation, it impacts the energy usage of the product during it’s service life.
