First layer not sticking - tip

Hi all,

I had some problems with the first layer not sticking to the printbed, and I was using the blue painters tape. I read somewhere the tape can be a bit greasy/oily.

Simplest sulution: clean it.

I'm currently using IPA wipes (wipes with Isopropenol - synthetic alcohol) this will evaporate quickly and will leave your painters tape dry in seconds again.

Now I have to pull like crazy, allmost pulling off the blue tape. It sticks like a charm.

For everyone who has sticking problems, this is a simple and fast solution.

Yes I can concur that htis helps greatly. I bought a bottle of denaturalized alcohol and clean the tape before printing. It almost sticks too good now .

Ok, I have a heated bed, can I put tape on it and use this method for the same ABS issue?
