Ultimaker 3 not creating a hotspot

I've had an Ultimaker 3 for a few months and it's worked perfectly, zero complaints. Yesterday however cura wouldn't connect and when I checked the printer it was disconnected from the wifi. I attempted setting up the wifi again by creating a hot spot but it says "creating wifi hotspot" for ages with no results. I've rebooted and updated the firmware via USB but still no progress. The Printer hasn't moved since transportation and has not been bumped or banged. Any suggestions?

With all that you did; did you also reset the network settings within the printer?

Curious to see if you managed to resolve this? I too have the same issue. Would have been an early release UM3+ I have tried everything under the sun including reseating the antenna on the wifi board.

I also had that problem once with my very early UM3. Recovering the firmware image solved it:

I recovered the firmware and no change.

 

Also replaced the WIFI antenna and nothing 😞

 

Off to go get a network switch, wired connection still works...

That is unfortunate. You may want to dump the logs on an USB stick and then send it to your reseller. He might be able to analyze it and give you a feedback what's wrong. Maybe it's the WiFi module itself.

Of course, depending on what kind of engineering you are in you can check the logs yourself too. 😉

I just setup a UM3 Extended. Upgraded the firmware via USB. And I am unable to complete wifi setup. It creates an access point I cannot connect to. I've tried using an iPhone, 2 Android phones, and a Macbook Pro and they all fail to connect to the access point my Ultimaker created.
