Check amount of material left on roll

I noticed you can see how much material is left on a roll when you load it onto the holder with RFID. Is there a way to check how much is left without unloading and re-loading?

I don't know a possibility, but be careful, the amount how much is left on the spool is only a calculated value. The printer subtracts the amount of needed filament from Cura, and this is also only an estimate.

Yeah, agreed. But it is probably a better estimate than SWAGing based on how many wraps are left.

Maybe this? Weight of the (half-) full spool, minus the weight of an empty spool, and this sum divided by the weight of one meter of that same filament? You would need a balance and a ruler.

At the end of a roll each coil is about 0,3 m, I just count the remaining coils and estimate length from that.

I measure the diameter, and the number of rings, multiply by 3.14, and then i have an indication of the length left on the roll.
