Hello everyone,

Recently I have been struggling to get my 3D printer resume it's print job. I don't how the filament got leaked and the hot end was filled with the lump of melted PLA when I returned to see  if the print job finished a few weeks before. So I disassembled the hot end and cleaned up the leaked filament lump. But as I tried to reassemble the hot end again I just couldn't. The heating rod is also loose now and I cannot make it go all the way through. Also  I am not being able to tighten the isolator nut. I tried to tighten it by heating the nozzle to the maximum temperature but still couldn't do it. Here are some images of the print head I took right now. Please can you guys help me come up with a solution to this. Really stressed putting all my efforts and still be not able to fix for past 2 weeks...

I can't see anything wrong in the photos, if you put the Teflon Coupler on top and tighten the plate, then everything should be fine.

In the state as shown in the photos, the Olsson block is not fixed, it is fixed by the coupler and the upper plate. See also one of the videos on YT, how to install the Olsson block, there it is explained even better.

I didn't find the olsson block assembly video for ultimaker 2+ but looks somewhat similar to ultimaker 2 .....and  thanks I didn't know the terminology "olsson block" before😁 so may be my searches were not directed to the content I was looking for ...

UM2+ is more less and upgraded version of UM2. For the UM2 there is an upgrade kit available to change the print head which includes the Olsson block, the UM2+ has it already. So you can watch any video UM2 or UM2+ which is related to the Olsson block because both are valid and shows the needed instructions.

    Good luck 🙂

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
