Hi everyone,

Could anyone explain or point me some resources about the Ultimaker Marketplace review process?

I recently developed and submitted a plugin for review; I was wondering what's the approval criterion and how long this process usually takes. Also I'd be interested to know how I can communicate with reviewers in case they have any questions.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @loociano, thanks for getting in touch.

When you submit a plugin via the contributor portal it's usually passed to me for a quick integration test. All going well it's then code reviewed by one of the Cura team to check if there's any malicious code in there (I'm sure you wouldn't do that to us).

If something goes wrong, it's rejected, where it will be returned to you with a list of requested changes.

If everything's good it's approved, where it will return to you for a final check. When you approve it from your side it will become visible in the web Marketplace and in versions of Cura with SDK compatibility.

Network Support for Monoprice Select Mini V2 is your work, I guess?

(also off topic: good to know. I just spent about 5 min. to manually change the white text in another post ☺️ )

    That's right.

P.S. you have passed the integration test 😉

That sounds oddly racist. But I guess that's not how you meant it 😉

(to be perfectly clear: that was meant as a joke)

@maht I have a follow up question while the plugin is under review: once plugins are published on the marketplace, do new releases follow the same review process? I'm wondering in the event of bug fixes, etc.

Also would appreciate if you could share some review timeline insights if you know. How long these usually take? One week? One month?

    Thanks again in advance!

When you update a plugin you'll submit a new version through the contributor portal with a bumped version number, and yes it will follow the same process.

We aim for a 2 day turnaround. There's been a small delay this time as last week was a short week, so sorry about that. I discussed your plugin in our standup this morning and I expect the code review should happen today or tomorrow for your submission.
