Cura .MSI File

I'm a bit confused after I checked out the new Cura Version 4.6.2 you guys released yesterday.

Normally I'm downloading the .MSI File you always provide at github but today I can't find it.

So I heard from the new Ultimaker Essentials and in the presentation you told that one advantage of Cura Enterprise is the .MSI File you provide for the subscribers...

I wondered, because normally everyone is able to download it, hopefully you're just a little bit late and not going to make the free to use software bad to sell the new subscribing product.

I would like to hear from you!

Cura 4.6.2 is not Cura Enterprise. I think it is just an oversight that the 4.6.2 release misses an msi.

I don't think the exe installer is "bad". It has some features that are (were?) lacking in the msi installer (such as confirm to remove the settings and profiles).

    Hello @WeberUlti

Since we launched Essentials we're now only making .msi builds for that.

The reasoning behind this is .msi installs are mostly useful for companies, and we want them to use Essentials.

We'll also need to get all the builds signed which can take extra time.

For what reason do you need the .msi? Perhaps there's something we can do.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
