Posted · Ultimaker 2 worked until firmware update

Printed one job great and then updated firmware. After firmware was updated no display on the LCD screen on the ultimaker itself and cura will not activate a print at all. Tried several times with the firmware update but still the LCD screen is blank on the machine. All that turns on is the fans and the LED lights. Machine is unusable.

    A lot of people who have this issue don't actually have an Ultimaker printer.  There are some knock offs.  Can you take a photo of the print head and maybe a photo of the PCB underneath?  Most UM2 owners can tell by seeing only a small area of the printer if it's a knockoff or the real thing.

     

    Also is it a UM2+ or UM2 regular, Um2go, or extended?  Where did you get the firmware?

        Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
