Lift switch calibration fail

Hi all,

I'm facing an issue to switch print core with my Ultimaker S5. I calibrated the lift switch successfully multiple times but when I launch a print, almost each time the print head fail to switch extruder.

Why is it that the head misses the calibration like that?

Where are these kind of information stored? I guess it's in the printer and not in the G-code.

I had a few month ago PLA material overflow and I had to peel it off by heating the full head with a hot gun. After that the printer was working properly but maybe some electronic component was damaged in the head, is it linked?

Thanks for your answers.

    Hi @Jerome68,

    Welcome in here.

I cannot see that there is any "direct" connection between the electronics and the overflow issue.

However, if the lift mechanism in the left slot upper part got a kind of "new" offset there might be an issue, or if it is a permanent offset fixture between the slot guides. (Too much difference in height between the nozzles.)

What kind of error does the printer give?

When the lift switch fail occur, can you see that the switching fail and how?

I.E. Switching from left to right, or the other way around?

    Thanks

    Torgeir
