Print Core Jammed with Filament preventing removal

Hi there, I realized after going through the remove PrintCore commands that excess dried filament was preventing the removal of the PrintCore . I think heating the PrintCore would be a potential solution but the screen is stuck on "Please remove the PrintCore from the print head slot 2". Is there any way for me to cancel this command to try heating it to clear the filament?

It definitely won't hurt to power cycle.  I can see in your photo that the core is cold (solid blue light).

Did you try simply pushing the lever on the feeder and pulling down on the filament where it enters the feeder?  That should get the filament out of the core and into the bowden far enough that the core should now slide out.

When I say "pushing" I mean lifting it upwards by squeezing with one hand (while the other pulls the filament down and out of the back of the feeder).  You have to squeeze quite hard.  I recommend printing one of these (I have a few):

The above part works for both UM2+ and also UM3 (but not S3/S5).

Thank you for your response. sorry I misspoke about the issue, I was able to unload the filament but the material near the nozzle is preventing me from properly squeezing the levers to slide out the PrintCore. I am working now to heat it so that I can remove as much of the block as possible

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
