Hello all, I would like some assistance with a problem I am  having with a PLA print, we have printed this model before with no problems, but recently I have tried to print the model and it fails and does not print correctly when printing the legs, the layers do not seem to be complete, I have tried everything I can think of. Temperature in the print room is ok and the material is Ultimaker PLA filament.

The photo shows where the print failed firstly (left hand print) this is at 0.2mm layer height, I have tried to print many times and always fails at the same point, the right hand print is at 0.1mm layer it prints but the legs on the print are not forming correctly at the top.

Any ideas?

No expert but it might help to print a few parts at once and to slow down the speed. On reading re. Issues with small prints I saw that suggested a few times. I think the logic is to provide sufficient cooling time to the layers.

First, make sure the filament is dry. PLA isnt that sensitive but if the material has been laying open a longer time it helps to dry it.

If you have an enclosure you can just heat the bed to 60°C and leave the roll on it a coupple of hours.

As dmyth said, small parts can suffer from insufficient cooling if layer print time is short.

If you already run the fans at 100% try to print a few more of your model at the same time. That will allow them to cool down better.

There are parameters in Cura that can control layer time as well but that is beyond my experience.
