Display dead, no PC connection anymore :(

Hello,

I'm from Germany so please forgive me my crappy English.

Today I wanted to change the 5V hotend fan as I unfortunately noticed my UM2 shutting down.

After a second it restarted but the display stays dark and there's no connection to PC possible anymore.

The White LED Lights are still working. The PSU delivers 23V. The yellow LED indicator is on.

Has anyone an idea or suggestion what to do or check? A new board is soooo expensive. 😞

Did you just worked on the print head or also on the bottom of the printer? 

You have probably shortened something during your work. So please ALWAYS turn off the printer and disconnect the power before you start working on it.

 

If you opened the cover on the bottom then maybe a connector is not in place anymore.

Sorry to hear that..

 

When you said white led, are you talking about the light strip inside the printer?

So to the amber light, is this the one on the main PCB?

There is "several" LED lights, so we need to know the correct one.

There is three "amber/red" lights, two yellow and one green LED on the main PCB.
